Description

Material Of Monel Check Valves

Monel alloy is a Nickel alloy material with the addition of:

Copper (Cu)
Silicon (Si)
Manganese

These materials are also known as Monel Alloy 400 and Monel Alloy K500

Material Features:

Monel alloy has an excellent anti-corrosion performance in the reducing acid medium, especially have excellent corrosion resistance in high-temperature hydrogen fluoride and hydrofluoric acid solution, and resistant to any density of hydrofluoric acid solution corrosion. Mainly applies in high-temperature hydrogen fluoride gas and hydrofluoric acid solution condition, and its corrosion resistance is better than copper-based alloys when used in seawater.

Cautions Of Monel Check Valves

Ease of manufacture: trade-off between castability and weldability
Pitting can be a problem at low velocities
Don’t be used as the trim of austenitic stainless valves
P/T rating class 300=600 psi CWP
Cost effectiveness need consideration
